JACKSON TOWNSHIP, N.J. — A local 18-year-old has been charged with murder following the death of his grandmother, whose body was discovered in their home after the suspect made a 911 call reporting the incident. Louis Brown is accused of killing Darlene Brown, 69, on May 18, which has shocked the quiet community in this New Jersey township.
Authorities announced the charges, which include murder and unlawful possession of weapons. Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer confirmed they quickly transitioned from responding to an emergency call to launching a homicide investigation after police found the circumstances surrounding the call troubling. The emergency call was made around 7 a.m. from a residence on Justin Way.
