Tragic Triple Homicide Shakes Quiet Bucks County Community as Suspect Confesses to Gruesome Family Murders

CHURCHVILLE, Pa. – A shocking triple homicide has rattled the Bucks County community, where law enforcement is investigating the alleged actions of a man accused of killing his elderly parents and sister in their home. Kevin Castiglia, 55, was taken into custody after a tense standoff that lasted several hours.

Castiglia faces multiple charges, including three counts of criminal homicide, abuse of a corpse, and recklessly endangering another person. Authorities say he is suspected of murdering his 90-year-old father, Fred Castiglia, 84-year-old mother, Judith Castiglia, and his 53-year-old sister, Deborah Castiglia. This incident unfolded in a normally peaceful neighborhood, leaving residents stunned and fearful.

The investigation began when Deborah’s boyfriend became anxious after not hearing from her. He first visited her home on Sunday, but found it deserted. His concern grew when he spotted Deborah’s SUV parked outside her family residence on Heather Road the next day. When he approached, Kevin Castiglia opened the door in a bathrobe and claimed his sister was on vacation. Tensions escalated quickly; Kevin allegedly threatened him with a knife, prompting the boyfriend to contact the police.

Police from Northampton Township arrived at the scene for a welfare check and found Kevin armed with two knives, one stained with what appeared to be blood. When questioned about his family, he responded by pointing a knife at the officers before retreating inside the home. Kevin’s refusal to cooperate led to a chaotic standoff, during which he barricaded himself inside.

After five hours of negotiations, law enforcement officials decided to enter the home. They discovered the bodies of Fred and Judith Castiglia in their master bedroom and found Deborah’s body in the kitchen. Kevin was later found on the second floor and taken into custody without further resistance.

While receiving treatment at a nearby hospital, Kevin allegedly told medical staff he had harmed someone. Investigators later reported that he confessed to fatally stabbing his parents while they slept and attacking Deborah when she entered the room. Kevin has been denied bail and is currently held in Bucks County jail, with a preliminary hearing set for February 12.

Authorities have not disclosed a motive for the tragic incident, raising questions in the community about the violent events that unfolded. Neighbors have expressed disbelief, describing the Castiglia family as quiet and reserved individuals.

Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the case, which has been labeled one of the most disturbing incidents in the area’s recent history. Local authorities assure residents there is no ongoing threat and are encouraging anyone with relevant information to reach out to the Northampton Township Police Department.
