South Charlotte Apartment Complex Shooting Leaves Two Dead and Two Injured

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina – Two men were fatally shot and two others are recovering in the hospital after a shooting at a south Charlotte apartment complex, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

The incident occurred in the early morning hours at a complex on South Lodge Circle just off East Arrowood Road. Neighbors reported hearing gunshots around 3 a.m., prompting police to respond to the scene.

Upon arrival, officers discovered four men who had been shot. One of them died at the scene, while the other three were transported to the hospital. Unfortunately, one of the hospitalized victims also succumbed to his injuries.

The sound of gunfire alerted nearby officers, who were able to respond quickly to the scene. According to CMPD Major Dave Johnson, the shooting appeared to stem from a confrontation in the parking lot, potentially involving two different groups.

Despite the violence, authorities assured the public that there was no ongoing threat and that no suspects were at large. Residents in the area expressed shock at the incident, emphasizing that the community is typically peaceful.

As of now, police have not released the names of the victims, but they have confirmed that all involved were adult men. Investigators are now looking to the two survivors for information that may provide insight into the circumstances leading up to the tragic event.
