Ontario Man Charged with Second-Degree Murder Following Tragic Home Invasion in Surrey

Surrey, Canada — A 40-year-old man from Ontario has been arrested and charged with the second-degree murder of Tori Dunn, who was tragically killed during a violent home invasion on June 16, coinciding with Father’s Day. Dunn, aged 30, was assaulted in her residence located in the 9800-block of 182A Street, leading to her untimely death.

Authorities identified the suspect as Adam Mann, who was apprehended while officers were responding to the distress call at Dunn’s house. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken charge of the investigation. In addition to the murder charge, Mann is facing allegations of aggravated assault from an unrelated incident that occurred three weeks prior to Dunn’s murder in Surrey.

The day following Dunn’s death, Mann found himself facing charges related to the earlier attack. He is expected to appear in court concerning that case on July 2. In a poignant social media post, Dunn’s father, Aron, expressed his despair, revealing that his daughter was the victim of a brutal home invasion.

Sgt. Timothy Pierotti of IHIT relayed that though Dunn’s legal name is spelled Tory, she was affectionately known as Tori by friends and family. He described the emotional toll the event has taken on her loved ones. “We, her family cannot begin to understand how someone as kind as Tori could be victim to such senseless violence,” Aron Dunn wrote.

Tori Dunn is remembered as a beloved figure in her community, celebrated for her kindness and the joy she brought to others. “Tori was loved by all that she met. She devoted her time and love to her friends and family, someone who lit up the room with her smile and laugh. She is loved more than words,” her father added.

In search of further evidence, IHIT has issued an appeal to the public requesting any dash-camera or surveillance video footage from the area around 182A Street on the evening of June 16, from 9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Court records reveal that an Adam Troy Mann, born in 1983, has also been charged with aggravated assault relating to a stabbing incident involving a woman on May 26. Although charges were not announced until a day after Dunn’s homicide, Sgt. Pierotti confirmed that Mann was apprehended on the same day of the murder and remains in custody.

While confirming Mann’s current charges and custody, Sgt. Pierotti conveyed, “This morning he was officially charged with Ms. Dunn’s murder.” The community and Dunn’s family now await the progress of the judicial proceedings, hoping for justice in the face of this grievous loss.
