Mobile Man Arrested for Murder After 911 Call Reveals Disturbing Circumstances Surrounding Wife’s Death

MOBILE, Ala. – A Mobile man has been charged with murder following the suspicious death of his wife, prompting a detailed investigation that spanned nearly six weeks. Herman Glaude, 41, was taken into custody on September 24 in connection with the death of his wife, Jennifer Glaude, who was 52.

The situation unfolded on August 14 when Glaude called 911 reporting that his wife was unresponsive in their bathroom. He described her condition as resembling someone “snoring with her eyes open.” Emergency medical personnel arrived and transported Jennifer to a local hospital, where she died two days later.

Authorities later determined that her death was the result of traumatic brain injuries consistent with blunt force trauma. An autopsy also confirmed that she suffered from head trauma due to an assault. Following a thorough investigation, an arrest warrant for Herman Glaude was issued on September 17, charging him with one count of murder.

Investigators revealed that this was not the first incident prompting police attention to the Glaude household. A day before the fatal call, an individual contacted law enforcement after receiving messages from Jennifer via social media. In her messages, she expressed fears for her safety and claimed that Herman was threatening her. However, police responded to that call but did not make any arrests or file charges at the time.

The following day, Herman placed his own emergency call, stating uncertainty about his wife’s condition while indicating she might be sick or injured. When responders arrived, they discovered Jennifer had sustained severe injuries, which ultimately led to her hospitalization.

Friends of Jennifer have painted a troubling picture of her marriage to Herman, suggesting that she experienced frequent mistreatment throughout their relationship. Jennifer was employed as a fiscal officer with the Mobile County probate court, while Herman faced challenges maintaining stable employment. Historical court records indicate Herman has a criminal history that includes a voyeurism charge in Mississippi and a conviction for marijuana possession in Mobile.

With the investigation now closed, Herman remains in custody at the Mobile County Jail, with bond set at $350,000. Police have not released specific details regarding the evidence leading to the murder charge, but they confirmed that the case remains active as additional information surrounding Jennifer’s death is gathered.

Court proceedings are anticipated to move forward in the weeks ahead as Herman Glaude awaits his next scheduled appearance before a judge.
