Louisiana man injects mom with meth then beats her to death and leaves her body in garbage can

OPELOUSAS, LA – Authorities in Opelousas have charged a local man with first-degree murder after his mother’s body was found stuffed in a trash can outside her home, police said.

Aaron Lloyd, 33, was taken into custody Sunday after neighbors on Park Circle discovered the body of 65-year-old Lisa Lloyd beneath her carport. Police responded to the scene after receiving the report and quickly launched an investigation into the disturbing crime.

According to officials, Aaron Lloyd was located at a separate residence and brought in for questioning. During his interview with detectives, he allegedly admitted to injecting his mother with methamphetamine before beating her to death. Police said Lloyd was taken into custody without incident and provided a confession about what transpired.

Investigators said the caller who reported the crime identified himself as the individual responsible for both the killing and concealing of the body. Authorities have not confirmed whether Aaron Lloyd was the one who made the initial call but stated that the information provided matched the circumstances discovered at the scene.

Lisa Lloyd’s body was found in a trash bin near her home, a detail that shocked neighbors and led to the swift involvement of law enforcement. Police have not determined or disclosed a motive for the alleged murder.

Aaron Lloyd faces several charges, including first-degree murder, aggravated second-degree battery, obstruction of justice, failure to seek assistance, and the distribution of a controlled dangerous substance. After being booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail, he remains in custody without bond as the investigation continues.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing, and further details may be released as more information is obtained. The incident has left the small Opelousas community in mourning and searching for answers.

Opelousas Police Chief Graig LeBlanc described the case as deeply tragic, asking residents to keep the Lloyd family in their thoughts during such a painful time.

The police department continues to collect evidence and interview witnesses to determine the full circumstances leading up to the crime. No court dates have been set as of Tuesday, according to officials.
