Investigation Underway After 14-Year-Old Killed in Dirt Bike Crash at Massachusetts Motocross Track

WAREHAM, Mass. – Massachusetts State Police detectives are currently investigating a tragic dirt bike crash that took the life of a 14-year-old boy at a motocross track in Wareham. The incident, which occurred shortly after 12:35 p.m. Sunday, prompted a swift response from Wareham police, emergency medical services personnel, and Onset firefighters.

Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz stated that authorities were alerted to the crash involving a single dirt bike at 131 Atwood Farm Way, the address of Diamond MX. Upon arrival at the scene, responders discovered the 14-year-old boy grievously injured. He was promptly transported to Tobey Hospital in Wareham, where he was sadly pronounced deceased.

In the wake of this tragedy, a heartfelt message was shared on the Diamond MX Facebook page, expressing condolences to the boy’s family and all affected by the heartbreaking event. The message also emphasized Diamond MX’s dedication to ensuring a safe riding experience, assuring that all necessary safety measures had been implemented.

Additionally, it was reported that a Wareham Police Department officer was involved in a separate motor vehicle collision while en route to the motocross track on Saturday afternoon. The officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Tobey Hospital for treatment.

State police, under the direction of District Attorney Cruz, are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal dirt bike crash. As a gesture of respect for the victim’s family and the motocross track’s employees, Diamond MX remained closed on Sunday.
