Contract Killing Unveiled: Haryana Police Arrest Three After ASI’s Murder Over Property Feud

Chandigarh, India – In a tragic turn of events, a 40-year-old Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) was brutally murdered in what police have confirmed as a contract killing involving familial discord over property issues. The deceased, identified as Sanjeev Kumar, was targeted outside his residence in Kutail village, Kurukshetra, by two gunmen riding a motorcycle on July 3.

According to officials, the initial investigation has revealed that Sanjeev’s own brother-in-law, who currently resides in Canada, orchestrated the assassination. The accused hires, identified through swift police work, are residents of Aligarh and were apprehended by the Special Task Force (STF) of Karnal. The suspects, named Mohit Kumar and Tushar, reportedly conducted extensive surveillance of the area before carrying out the hit.

In their operation, police detained three individuals including Khentender, alias Abhay Sharma, who is accused of brokering the deal between the brother-in-law and the hired gunmen. Notably, the arrest nearly led to an escape attempt, during which Mohit sustained a gunshot wound.

Rajesh Phogat, the STF Superintendent, detailed how the conspirators meticulously planned the execution, indicating a premeditated strike fueled by a dispute over assets. “Complete reconnaissance was conducted, and the culprits stayed nearby to monitor Kumar’s movements closely,” Phogat stated.

The group linked to this brutal act reportedly belongs to a self-styled right-wing organization previously associated with various violent acts in Uttar Pradesh. Authorities have reportedly recovered the murder weapon and are now focused on piecing together the entire narrative of the murder, hoping to ascertain the full scope of the conspiracy.

During interrogations, the accused have admitted to their roles in the killing, providing law enforcement with crucial evidence, including the weapon used in the crime. “The weapon’s recovery marks a significant breakthrough in reinforcing the chain of events as confessed by the suspects,” commented a police officer involved in the investigation.

The focus currently rests on uncovering the precise motive behind Kumar’s murder and determining how the overseas conspirator managed to coordinate with Sharma to initiate this grim plot. The police force is actively sifting through communications and potential leads that could shed light on the dynamics within the family that led to this tragic outcome.

The community has been left reeling from this incident, prompting calls for a deeper look into how personal grievances are allowed to escalate to such violent ends and the role of illegal firearms in criminal activities. As the investigation continues, authorities are also scrutinizing the broader network potentially supporting such criminal activities, aiming to dismantle any infrastructure that facilitates such grim tasks.

Law enforcement remains vigilant, underlining their commitment to ensuring justice for ASI Sanjeev Kumar and striving to prevent similar incidents in the future by addressing the root causes of such violent crimes.
