25-year-old New York woman shot in the back and in the head by her husband who dumped her on the side of the road

PLATTSBURGH, NY – The disappearance of a young woman over the weekend has ended with her husband in custody, accused of fatally shooting her and discarding her body miles away.

Chloe Henry, 25, was last seen with her husband, Keith Henry, 33, before she was reported missing on Sunday. Family members grew alarmed after losing contact with Chloe for more than a day, stating that such silence was highly out of character for her. Their concern triggered an investigation by state police.

Authorities initiated a search, which concluded on Tuesday, when Chloe’s body was found on the side of Ridge Road in the quiet community of Chazy, not far from the natural expanse of the Lake Alice Wildlife Management Area. The discovery provided a devastating answer to her family’s fears.

An autopsy conducted at a hospital in Glens Falls identified Chloe’s cause of death as gunshot wounds to both her head and her back. The case was officially deemed a homicide by the medical examiner, intensifying the police investigation and search for a suspect.

Detectives believe the fatal shooting actually took place in Peru, a town located over 25 miles from where the victim’s body was eventually found. Officials allege that Keith Henry fired the shots inside his own vehicle, then transported his wife’s remains to a remote roadside location.

No significant details regarding the suspected motive have been shared by police at this time. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to piece together the events leading up to Chloe Henry’s death.

Keith Henry was arrested and is now facing charges of second-degree murder and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Henry was booked into the Clinton County Jail without bail and stood before a judge in Peru Town Court on Tuesday.

The endangering the welfare of a child charges suggest that at least one minor could have been present or involved in some capacity, though police declined to elaborate on that aspect of the case.

Community members are struggling to make sense of the tragedy, while law enforcement asks anyone with relevant information to come forward to assist the ongoing probe.

Arrangements for Chloe Henry’s memorial have not yet been announced as the investigation continues and authorities review evidence tied to the case.
