DEARBORN, Mich. — A high-speed car crash in Dearborn this summer led to tragic consequences and has now resulted in serious criminal charges. Felecia Sunshine Lazo, a 25-year-old resident of Taylor, has been charged with second-degree murder following the fatal incident on July 19.
According to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, Lazo was allegedly traveling at a dangerously high speed along Michigan Avenue when she disregarded a red traffic light at the intersection of Nowlin. Her vehicle collided with another car, driven by Dr. Ghada Mustapha, causing Lazo’s vehicle to overturn.
Dr. Mustapha, who was a mother of three, succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Lazo survived the crash but required hospitalization due to the injuries she sustained.
