15-year-old Pennsylvania girl leaves 17-year-old ex-boyfriend to die after shooting him in the head

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA – Authorities allege a Pennsylvania teen used a stolen gun to shoot her ex-boyfriend in the head, then left him behind in his apartment as he died.

Authorities identified the teen as Precious Hamilton, who now stands accused of third-degree murder, involuntary manslaughter, and multiple weapons violations after the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Baseem “Seyven” Baker. The incident occurred Monday at an apartment building on Old York Road in Abington Township, just outside Philadelphia.

Police responded to a call shortly after 5 p.m., reporting an unresponsive person. When officers arrived, they found Baker dead in his bedroom from a gunshot wound to the head. Investigators determined the gun had not been recovered.

Court documents reveal that Baker’s mother had left the apartment to run errands around 2:30 p.m., leaving her son and Hamilton alone. She told authorities she returned about two hours later to find the door unlocked, which surprised her. After taking some time to complete paperwork, she discovered her son unresponsive and immediately called for help.

Hamilton had allegedly spent the weekend at the apartment with Baker. According to statements from a family member, the teens had been seen together with the gun the previous night. A cousin recalled Hamilton displaying a loaded “cowboy-style” revolver, and said Hamilton expressed interest in firing it out the bedroom window before Baker convinced her not to. Surveillance images later retrieved from the building showed Hamilton leaving the apartment just before 3:30 p.m.

Investigators reviewed digital evidence from Baker’s electronic devices that showed images and videos of Hamilton holding the firearm. In her interview with detectives, Hamilton admitted to stealing the gun about two months earlier but claimed the shooting was not intentional. According to court documents, she recounted a struggle or sudden movement which led to the gun discharging unexpectedly as the two lay on the bed.

Hamilton said she panicked, left Baker unresponsive, and fled the scene without contacting emergency services. She then called her mother to pick her up, and they returned home together.

The Montgomery County coroner’s office later ruled the death a homicide. The handgun used in the shooting has not yet been located despite ongoing police efforts.

Hamilton remains in custody and faces a preliminary court hearing in the coming weeks. Prosecutors say she will be tried as an adult due to the severity of the charges and the nature of the evidence presented.
